My brother has this boiler. The boiler is working when the boiler dial is in the off position. So its getting its power from the permanent live feeding the boiler .Also the boiler is not turning off on thermostat.
its a sealed system and when the pressure in the system built up over 3 bar the prv is not releasing water. There is an rgi coming to look at it tomorrow.
The boiler is 9/10 years old approx,Is it worth fixing this boiler?,id presume it needs at least a pcb,or should my brother bite the bullet and change to a new boiler?,the boiler has never given him trouble before, thanks

You know yourself agusta, the boiler isn't getting any younger or any more efficient. If he can afford it and if it's something he had in mind then yes change it. But if money is tight then just replace the board. He should upgrade the system and controls while he's at it. If only he knew a plumber who could do most of the work

Thanks dtp1979.The house is just 1000sq feet,The house is rented,so my brother is making a decision about a repair or a new boiler. If it was the house he was living in he would zone it but not when he is just renting.
The rgi looked at the boiler,He said the reset switch is gone and the circulation pump is on the way out.is boiler worth repairing
