So im thinking of buying a new car. I got offered a 2006 audi a4 2 liter diesel 6speed 140bhp model. the only thing is that it hads 250,000 kilometers on it. i know that only roughly about 160,000 miles but is that very high millage for a car i be needing for everyday use. don't want to buy something that 6 months down the line will start causing problem.

Its a 10 year old car so it was averaging 25,000 km a year which would be standard. I'd be more concerned if the mileage was any less.

If it has been serviced at the recommended intervals (and has the relevant receipts to prove it) then I wouldnt have any issues.

Has the upgrades been done on the oil pump drive?
If you done know about , do a search on boards about it.
Not done is walk away from the car.

I was advised recently to avoid the 2.0 engine in the 2006 - 2007 A4's and stick with the 1.9 115Bp engine, more reliable with high mileage!

BKE is the engine code.... I think! :)
