Adverts Shop?

Is anybody making money on adverts.ie or Done Deal? I know there's a lot of timewasters and people trying to swap you binoculars for your car.

I sell online through Ebay and Amazon stores and have noticed recently that my Irish sales are dwindling to almost nothing. Without going into too much detail I can undercut almost anybody selling like for like items so that isn't the issue. I also doubt they are buying on Adverts.. but..

I was considering an Adverts shop. I'm not expecting much but I'm happy enough if it's profitable and isn't just a time drain. I suspect I could do a much better job than people who are already on there. I can also sell at a fraction of what they are charging.

    Anybody else tried?

    Thanks

Just to add, I know there's a lot of generalities in there. I just prefer to keep my boards profile and work separate. Have disclosed some things here I would prefer keep private. :o

You could probably track peoples history on adverts and get an idea.

I remember getting some PC parts of one guy and be brought me into his house. He appeared to have loads of components for sale and was probably making a nice bit, but I would personally rather be selling bigger things in lower amounts with higher profit per item.

I had thought offering some service along with the items might do better, this would depend on the item.

Thanks for the reply. Looking at people's history is what has always put me off these sites. Seems to be a pitiful amount of activity. I mainly sell high volume/high demand/low-medium price IT items so quantity is key.

I'm going to give it a try in the next few weeks. Not a lot to lose!

I sell a very niche item in the adverts shops. Its just handy as a payment platform for those who would prefer not to reply to a paypal invoice. The charges are reasonable.

I have bought a good bit of stuff from adverts shops as the shipping and lead time are the USP, mostly chargers / flash keys / phone cases etc, I've never had an issue. I would say that I never found the item through google, I had to open Adverts and search for the item, where as I often google something and it takes me to a ebay.ie listing and I click and buy.

Sorry for the late response. That's very useful info!

I'm going to give it a shot!

    Thanks.
