Unnecessary Infraction

During a discussion in the Commuting & Transport Forum about passengers on trains taking seats which were reserved by someone else I posted a joke in order to diffuse an ever increasingly heated debate.
After posting that if I reserved a seat on a train and it was taken by another passenger I would insist that passenger vacated my reserved seat another poster replied with "You're well hard!" to which I responded with "How did you know I was watching Pornhub!??!!!??!:("

I then received this pm ..........

    "You have received an infraction
    Dear MadDog76,

You have been infracted for posting about a forbidden topic.

There are some things we don't allow discussion about on Boards.ie.

Please see the Boards.ie FAQ for more details.

If you wish to appeal this infraction you can see details on how to do so here.

    My reply was ...........

"Hi monument, I'd like to appeal this infraction to you directly first .......... I don't feel I was discussing a forbidden topic but simply making a light-hearted joke. Looking forward to your reply, thanks.

    MadDog"

    monument replied with .........

    "Hello MadDog,

As far as I am concerned, all aspects of porn is viewed as a forbidden topic, including naming porn sites.

You may contact a C-mod or use the appeals process to confirm this.

    Regards,

    monument"

I don't feel I engaged in an actual discussion of a "forbidden topic", I made a joke which incorporated the word "porn" which is not the same as discussing porn.

I feel an on-thread caution would have been more than sufficient in this case.

    Thanks, MadDog.

    Hi MadDog.

Apologies for the delay. I'm happy to confirm that the card was given in error due to a misunderstanding over the 'No Porn' rule.

I'll reverse the card for you later this morning.

    Edit: Card now reversed.

    All the best,

    tHB
