Nuisance calls

I keep getting nuisance calls from a private number.

Even though its a private number, I know who it is. This person, we had a falling out due to their own ignorance over a year ago and the calls started after that. They also went on holiday for the month of June and i didn't get phone calls.

Some of them go unanswered, so they are missed calls. Some I pick up and they hang up.

I have been keeping a record, and its once every few weeks. Like on my record, I have 12 calls. But I'm fed up with their behaviour, as I know they won't stop and its just to get to me.

I'm going to the guards about it and they might put a stop to it but what will the guards do, will they laugh at me since its not every day/week?

Can they do anything since its a private number?

    Just change your number.

12 calls in over 6 months is not really something to stress about. 12 a day would be. I get that this is bugging you but its just someone with too much time on their hands. Or maybe its misguided, or lonely, or theyre checking on you in a strange way. Your best plan is to dismiss it as the minor nuisance it is.

I always hang up on private numbers regardless of who it could be, if someone wants to talk to me they have no need to hide there identity.

    I've had nuisance calls.

Go to the Gardai. They will take details so record times and dates etc

They will investigate with the phone companies.

If the person is using their own phone, and just hiding it, they will be in trouble.

In my case, it was an unregistered phone so nothing could have been done.

A few years ago I had the same situation but more frequent. I think I knew who was doing it but couldn't be 100 per cent sure. To stop it, I simply answered the phone when they rang but didn't say anything, I just clicked 'answer' and put the phone down and walked away from it until they hung up. Me not doing anything at the other end of the phone caused them to get bored quickly and stop doing it. Hope this helps!

Forward phone to Samaritans or garda station. That's what I did!
