Hi. I'm with ulsterbank. Plenty of money on my account, works fine in ROI. I'm in Belfast now and my card keeps getting declined. Any idea why?

Did you advise your bank you'd be travelling outside of ROI and using your card to prevent anti-fraud measures being used?

I did not. I used my card in Donegal (i know thats stll ROI) a few months ago with no issue, i didn't think I'd have to!
Is there anything i can do now?

Ulster don't require you to contact them in advance, but I would contact them by phone as they do have a tendency to block first, ask questions later when it comes to any suspected unusual activity.

25 mins on the phone where they transferred me 4 times, turns out i exceeded my transaction limit yesterday so it was blocked for 24 hours. I had 10 transactions. I've had waaaaay more transactions a day than that so dunno why it triggered now but it's working today anyways :)

The transaction limit is the daily monetary amount, not the number of transactions
    Daily withdrawal limits
The current ATM withdrawal limits are as follows:
    Current accounts
✓ Current, ufirst, ufirstgold, Student: E750
✓ Dual, Standard and Step Accounts: E500
    ✓ Adapt Accounts: E375
✓ Although you have a daily withdrawal limit, a transaction will only
be authorised if you have sufficient cleared funds available on your
account or, if you have made separate arrangements with us.
