Im surprised no one has put up a thread on this sell here on this forum.

The centre is a big influence on the area and any further developments by the eventual new owners will be a hot topic

I doubt the new owners will be in a hurry to fix what is not broken.

Link to the yellow side redevelopment plan from a few years ago.

Plenty of room over by TKMaxx if they so wished too.

Its not a hot topic. Big commercial properties like this change hands all the time between investment vehicles and pension funds and the like. It seldom changes much on the ground, only of interest to shareholders.

    Is that still going ahead?

It was scheduled for completion in 2015

It's by far the best centre in the country. It employees hundreds of people, many local. It negates the need to go to the city centre, pretty much ever. And it's on our doorstep. Get real, we are poxed to have such a fantastic setup so close. As for the traffic, well it'll always be an issue, so get over it.

As for the purchasers, 1 billion yoyos, my money's on a pension fund management org whipping this up. 50 mill a year guaranteed rental income. It's a no-brainier.

A buyer with a billion to spend will be best placed to execute something in line with the council's vision for the place. In short, build up and over. Whether that's a good idea given that the local roads are backed up every weekend of the year...
