I am about to purchase and was wondering if anybody had an idea where i can get the plans for the property from Cork city Council?

    which department?
or if anybody had got some before.

    When was the house built?
All planning applications after 2007ish are published online on the councils site. Anything before that is subject to copyright and is not published.

    Assuming a pre-80's house
For info on drainage, which IMO is all you'll get, call the water/drainage section of the council and ask where the foul & surface drains are.

If you'd like to post the general area and the age, we may be able to offer more info

And the LA drainage maps will only show the public system. It won't show any private lines.

I think you will struggle to get the plans of the house unless there wells a recent planning application. You could ask the surveyor that is carrying out the pre purchase survey to measure up and prepare plans but it will cost a couple of hundred euro at a minimum.
