    So Dystopia is out today.

I gave it a listen on Spotify and sadly nothing stood out for me. It's not bad, definitely better than SuperCollider....but just nothing to get excited about.

Dystopia is a welcome return to form for Megadeth, right off the bat it's a focused, near 47 minutes of thrash. But that's just my 2 cents.

The reviews on Amazon are unanimously positive and everyone on Metal Ireland are trying to out-negative each other when it comes to this, hard to know what to make of that.

Haven't heard it yet but I'm looking forward to getting it, the last few Megadeth albums have had a few decent tracks on them, listened back to Super Collider and there are about 4/5 decent tracks on it, don't get all the hate for it.

Few decent songs on the album.

    The Threat Is Real
    Fatal Illusion
    Post American World
    Lying In State

Those are the stand out tracks for me.

Lyrically I think it's fairly rubbish mind you. Foreign Policy being the best (or worst example). It's a solid song musically though.

    A solid enough album though.

Fairly solid album musically alright although I'd be hard pushed to call it a thrash album.

I thought Kingmaker off the last was the only track of last album that way halfway decent the rest seem a mixture of unmemorable/sh1te. So thankfully I think this is a lot better an outing.

The Title track is my pick of the bunch, closely followed by Threat is Real, The Instrumental and Bullet to the Brain

Something quite addictive about Emperor too even if it without doubt contains the cheesiest lyrics on there...You make me sick...you prick ...So F'N Perfect like :D

Foreign Policy and Melt the Ice Away are covers :p saying that though you're right Foreign Policy blends nicely in with some of the stuff on here lyrically at least :D

Musically it's great, but is completely ruined by the lyrics. Chris Adler brings a lot to the drum fills too.

I've given it a few listens and I think it's good, I would rate it up there with Endgame as the best thing they've done since Youthanasia, despite the lyrics being a bit overly political for my liking.

The Emperor is a great song not ruined by the cheesy lyrics or Dave quoting the Spice Girls :pac: the lead guitar during the chorus is brilliant.

Bullet To The Brain, Poisonous Shadows and Conquer Or Die are my favourite tracks so far.

It is a step up from Super Collider, it's one for the Unpopular Opinions thread but I think Super Collider is a decent album.

People might say it's not as good as Peace Sells or RIP, but can anyone name a band that are around that long that are releasing albums of the same quality of their 'classic' releases.
