Sky TV to Bedroom RF Advice

Need some advice please. Long short story - new hd box installed so lost the rf output. I realise I now need to purchase an io link to reuse the old coaxial cable. Are these io links powered via the connection to the box? I've seen a triax brand which requires dc power unit but the cheaper ones on ebay, well I can't actually make out if it has separate power supply. Plus are these cheaper versions reliable?

Also wondering if I just ran a new long hdmi cable in-place of the old coaxial and used the scart on the main tv would this actually work? (I'm aware of not being able to change channel with this setup)

If i/o link is used to goto one room only as in direct to room any i/o link will do no external power unit is required. Simply plug into skybox, enable the rf power and set to ref freq and connect the cable to the rf2, insert terrestrial feed if you have one and and your all set.

If more than one room is needed , and you dont already have an amplifier in place then you have two options

    1. use any i/o link and use an bi-directional amplifier that is plugged with its own power source.
    2. Use a triax i/o link with external psu and connect to an amp that doesnt have its own power source such as a global f140 for example....
    3. If using an f140 amp or some equivalents by netgear its also possible to plug this amp in with a 12 volt psu

In theory this should work. But of course the main TV would not have HD.

Leave the coax in.place for a maglic eyr and.run a hdmi cable alongside it, you will get away with a max of about 20metres and get a proper powered hdmi splitter which u llace at back of the.main.tv so u can.grt.HDMI on both TVs.

If its.more. than 20metres you can get a cat6 to hdmi convertor and send signal a lot further these can also be connected to a different type of.magic eye so the rf cable could be removed.
