According to this map, the village may be covered by RippleCom. Have you tried contacting them to confirm?

What is the mobile coverage like in the area?

If there is no wireless/mobile cover, then the only plans for the area are either eir's planned 2017-2020 FTTH deployment (not totally guaranteed) or the NBP 2016-2021 (only guaranteed if it survives the General Election and whatever changes the new Gov make to it).

If you are truly desperate (and I'd nearly go back to dial-up rather than consider it myself), but Satellite should hit virtually any house in the country.

Two pubs, a church and maybe 30 dwellings? Its hardly surprising eir have skipped you over when there are hundreds of towns where they can turn a profit.

€29x30/mo takes a long time to pay off €500k (not counting op costs).

Set up a community broadband scheme if you want a decent service.

You should be able to get these guys in! A bit pricey but at least you should be able to get broadband!

Can I really get reliable Satellite Broadband anywhere in Ireland?
Yes – it really is as simple as that. Irish Satellite Broadband is available ANYWHERE in Ireland (and mainland Europe as well). As long as there is electricity and you can see the sky, we can deliver a fast and reliable broadband wherever you need it already.

I think they used to be Ice Broadband. Absolute rubbish.

Legan seems to be on the edge of Bounce Broadband's coverage map, I'd pick them over Ripplecom.
