Will my next bill be metered?

    Hi folks,

We have made an effort to conserve water since the meters were installed and i would really like
to know if this effort will have any impact on the amount of money we need to pay to Irish water.

    1. Can someone please check if my next bill (2015 Q4) will be metered?
I can see a meter reading online for October 2015, but not November or December 2015 yet.
Do Irish water take monthly readings? If so can you check why my online account is not updated?
If not how do you calculate what was used in November for example?
I took a reading myself yesterday and could see "20785" on the meter (with 20 being in the black section.)

    2. I have read in other threads that the number of children in your house should appear on your bill.
My last bill was unmetered and there were no children mentioned on it.
    Is that normal?
Can someone confirm that I have 3 children on my account?

I can PM my details, thanks.

    Hi cork_south,

    Thanks for getting in touch.

Please accept our apologies for the delay in response, which was due to technical difficulties.

Irish Water meters feature Automatic Meter Reading (AMR) technology, where a transmitter periodically sends your meter reading to a receiver unit in one of our branded, meter reading vehicles. Irish Water collects these month end records each time a scheduled drive-by reading is carried out, usually every three months. The meter reading will be provided to you as part of your bill. There will be a break down of your meter readings on the bill.

You can also see your metered usage by signing up for a MyWater online account, which allows you to quickly and easily manage your Irish Water account.

You can sign up for a MyWater account here.

More information on how Irish Water takes meter readings can also be found here.

As you stated that your previous bill was unmetered, this bills are based on the capped charges and the children's allowance is incorporated in this charge. Therefore, it only reflects the number of adults in the property.

However, your metered bill will reflect the number of children at your property on the bill, and will include the children's water allowance for each child for the period.

Regarding your other queries, we will be more than happy to look into this for you, if you PM the following details:

    - Name;
    - Address; and
    - Contact Number.

    Kind regards,
    Mairead
