My wife likes Mai Tai cocktails. She was interested in making her own however the ingredients are not easy to get form what I have seen. Does anyone know where I could get the below in Dublin or is there anything that could do as a substitute?

    orange curaçao
    Orgeat syrup

    Thanks

Orgeat Syrup can be made at home quite easily

Any decent Off License, like a good sized O'Briens should have Orange Curacao.

Thanks for this - Orange flower water? what is that and where would you get it?

Orgeat & Curaçao can be got in good off-licenses like Celtic Whiskey or Redmonds. If you can't get Curaçao, the Cointreau would do OK.

Orange flower water should be for sale in good Asian shops or high end food stores like Fallon & Byrne. You don't need it for a Mai Tai though.

Rum, orgeat, Curaçao, lime and sugar syrup are the core ingredients in the Vic's recipe, which is the classic standard.

I'd get Bols Triple Sec rather than Cointreau personally, Cointreau always tastes a bit... odd, anyway. Its also usually marginally cheaper.

Thanks for the info lads - Excuse my ignorance is orgeat & curacao suppose to be alcoholic or is it soft?

Curaçao is alcoholic but you can also get a syrup version made by Monin. And conversely, orgeat is normally found in syrup form but there is also an alcoholic liqueur version.
