I've been self employed for years and I think it's getting to me

There are def advantages of not having to ask for Hols and being best the fridge / cooker but I miss my colleagues

    Grass was/is greener perhaps

What's your question here? do you think you'd be better off working in an office and interacting more with people?

Is this more of a personal rather than a work issue?

I'm in the same boat in that I run my own business but work alone, I've since turned my week around and locum two days a week to get the social aspect of work.

Besides that it give some a constant regular income on the quiet months.

    Could be worth considering.

Depending on the kind of work you do. Would you considerong hiring a desk in one of those new share a workplace things (I know there is a real name for them but for the life of me I can't think of it). Your local Enterprise Board maybe able to advise. You could still get work done and meet people.

I rent a desk in a shared office space and it keeps me sane. I have no idea how people go a full work day sitting alone at home. My office was actually empty today - other than myself - and it really reminded me how hard I'd find it working from home. So I guess I'd recommend looking into a shared office; they're not all that costly. I pay €160 (excl. VAT) each month - though I'd sooner not know what my coffee costs add up to!

Hotdesking? If that's what you mean I think having a dedicated desk is a bit nicer. Since with hotdesking you can be at a different desk with different neighbors each day. Of course some people might prefer that.

I dont have a problem working solo at home, had the pleasure of it for the last few years. It's great to meet up with lads from work during the summer or christmas for party's etc but using messenger means I got to keep in contact with my colleagues.

No distractions is one of the best reasons of WFH
