Only kidding, I quite like these.

Any thoughts on this, folks? I might see what he can offer me as a trade for my 03 156 (in very good shape).

I haven't been in Dublin for years, so I know the area, but not the dealer.

    Thank you :)

    That looks lovely.

I have one myself since September. An 06 manual. I think the auto would suit it better tbh. But if you ask me they are the motoring world's best kept secret at the moment. Fabulous cars. Decent performance and economy, first class cabin comfort and refinement, and priced for absolute buttons. Equivalent audi or bmw will be three times the price.

Love those aero rims on yours too.

Thanks, fat bloke-all good to hear.

I have a hankering for an auto alright, and the value for money they represent is unreal, at the minute.

I have a fairly new car as it is, the Alfa is there as a spare, and this will replace it, so it may not have to do a whole lot of work (thinking in terms of fuel economy).

Is yours heavy on the juice? Can't be any worse than a twin spark, I guess!

So good we posted twice. :) - Must be a figment of the downtime or something.

Anyway, yeah the value is unbeatable. Juice consumption isn't desperate at all, though that depends on your perspective I guess. I'd say mine is doing low 30's. It's not a nice car to drive around town - the manual box is long and vague, the throttle response is sluggish enough, the gearing is high, the torque is low, the engine doesn't like to be laboured and also doesn't sound like it likes to be revved, but you do actually need to rev it to get it going cos that's where all the poke is, the handling is very bargey...

Sounds like a bag of sh1t from what I've written above, but an autobox should smooth out a lot of the transmission related recalcitrance :)

    And

Leave the traffic lights behind you, hit the motorway, get up to speed, hit cruise control and relaaaaaaax :D. From then on, til you reach your destination, for ten times the money you won't find a better mile eater. It's a glorious place to whoosh away motorway miles. Comfy, super quiet, refined, good stereo, good roll-on roll-off power and pick up. And little things like - the wipers are fantastic, the water jets are brilliant (all 6 of em!), the climate control and heating is fantastic - no fogging no messing. The comfort space and leg room in the back are all awesome. It's a very very well thought out car for carrying people in comfort from A to B.

Also, it's a personal thing, but I have to say that I really love the styling. Everytime I return to it in a shopping centre carpark I'm tickled pink at my great big hunk of Swedish metal. My imporded Yoorpean fambly sedan.

    Great cars.
