11/12 Estate - Superb SE vs. Mondeo Titanium

    Hello,

I am currently looking for a good sized Estate, and have narrowed it down to either a Superb SE or a Mondeo Titanium. Both are manual 2.0 Diesel in very good condition, and both with Full Service History and Mileage verification etc. The Mondeo is about a £1000 cheaper then the superb, despite being better equipped and having lower mileage.

Mondeo: 2012, 90K miles, Titanium Spec, has all the bells and whistles (incl. Sat Nav, adaptive lightning) except for Leather and Electric seats.

Superb: 2011, 130K miles, SE spec, well equipped, but less so then the Mondeo.

I prefer the look of the Superb, but somehow still think the Mondeo would be better overall Value. I would probably keep the car for 4-5 years, and in average do probably around 15k miles a year. So I am not really looking much at residual Value at the end, considering Mileage and age by then.

    What do you think?

The Superb is bigger. The Mondeo is better. Most will disagree. The majority are sheep.

    I own a 2008 Mondeo. I wouldn't buy a Ford again.

My garage tell me parts are expensive every time something goes (and my car is serviced every 15,000km so well looked after) so my plan is to change within the next 12 months.

We have a Mondeo Zetec 2010, 2.0 140, looked at superb when we were buying but it was €3k more.
The ford is a fine car but I feel the seats let it down. I have back problems and find them less supportive than other VAG cats we've owned.

If it were only €1k between them I think I'd have gone for the Superb, and in estate I think the superb looks nicer.

I would be leaning towards the Superb but then it's a year older so all isn't equal. Also if you want all the bells and whistles then VAG isn't for you. Seen as resale value isn't a concern that keeps the Mondeo in the picture.

Thanks for all the feedback. Much appreciated, and some good Input.

Still haven't 100% made up my mind, but I am leaning towards the Superb.
