Best time to book a test

If I knew a time I was free to take a test (say mid June), when would be best to book a test to ensure I got a test in the time frame then. Within a month, around the same time as the waiting time. What would you suggest? Any tips would be greatly appreciated.

I booked mine in October, got the date in December and did the test yesterday (January). However there really is no way of know. You can book it and then apply for a cancellation closer to the time. Very hard to get a specific date though I would say.

Book it now and put yourself down as unavailable till mid June, if you don't get a date by the end of May call up and ask about a cancellation.
