    Hi

I'm starting a new house build soon on our land.
We have to knock the existing property (Old cottage) when the new house is complete.

Will we have to pay property tax on the new house?
I think I read somewhere that new builds are exempt? (Maybe it was a fantastic dream!)

If new builds are exempt, I'm unsure if they would consider ours as a new build?

Purchased new houses are exempt for a period. Self builds are not

The annual tax is a tiny, tiny proportion of the cost of the build.
