8 players repeatedly flagged are playing in Melbourne. And a GS champion is supposedly involved too. Not a good start to the year but more information on match-fixing was bound to leak out eventually.

Amazing to think the Integrity unit knew, but seem to have done nothing. The whispering campaign will start now

Its been going on for ages tbh. Its obviously more common at challenger/itf but they are players on the atp tour that are guilty as sin. I won't name them as Boards can get into trouble for that sort of thing, but the players I am pretty certain who are it pretty obvious and who have "reputations".

Also Buzzfeed has said ATP Slam dbls winners are implicated, not to hard to work out that is either.

I don't see much coming from this chris Kermode has said its very minor, and their has been numerous bent challenger matches which even Rothenberg has picked up on and those players are still playing.

If they don't have the balls to go after challenger nobodies, does anyone seriously think they will go after players on the ATP tour who have fixed?

I'd like to be proven wrong though.

Grand Slam champs, I'm surprised you would think it would be more the lads in the ~100 rank and lower that make ****e money..

Dbls grand slam winner though, definitely nowhere the same amount of cash involved in that compared to singles.

The GS winner rumor was false, algorithm flagged him but has since been disproved.

With the amount of attention on match-fixing at the beginning of the tournament surely no one will try and -

If they did throw it, don't blame them really, not as if they are going to get in trouble over it.

The documentary on bbc last week was fascinating, so often matches were flagged and tennis showed little interest in chasing it up. The Davydenko match was a classic example.

That clown was only talked to recently, and last week entered the Aussie Open Qualifiers.

A little like doping, fixing is something tennis is content to ignore which is what the above dbls match people I am sure are more than aware of assuming they were at it.

That is the BBC radio documentary, interesting if bleak listening.

Came across an interesting blog post here in relation to prize money v 'fixing fee'

    http://www.tennisabstract.com/blog/2016/01/25/the-cost-of-fixing-a-tennis-match/

    Two points in particular:

"well over half of last year’s ATP matches–had an expected value under $10,000"

this is the value of prize money to the winner

and, as for doubling the prize money on challenger the tour:

"Simply doubling the numbers above, we find that almost half of all Challenger matches would still be worth $1,000 or less, with almost 80% under $2,000. If some players will fix matches for ten times the expected prize money, that means we still have thousands of matches that are “fixable” for $10,000."

Fixing matches is a pretty low cost activity, and will remain so, especially at the lower levels. And 6/1 on a challenger pays out the same as 6/1 on a grand slam quarter final...
