So I have €40 on my account balance on amazon.de (I added it using a giftcard) which I bought before realizing that amazon.de does not have a free shipping to Ireland option.

Now I want to somehow transfer this to my amazon.co.uk balance or to my paypal. I know there is no official way to do it, but I am hoping you guys know things I don't. I was thinking about buying some downloadable software and selling it somewhere. Is this a good idea, or are there better ways to get my money back?

I'm not sure if this is possible. I have $40 sitting on amazon.com and use it for kindle books ( no delivery charge)

Personally I don't think its possible for but not 100% sure, I had an account with audible which is an Amazon company and I accidentally opened an American account on my mobile and when logging in on a desktop I created a separate account on the ie/UK site which they couldn't transfer my purchases over but that's audible so I'm not 100% sure wether or not the same policies apply with Amazon, but thought I'd share my experience.

    Can't be done,
Gift Cards are intended for the Amazon website they were purchased from only.

For example you can't move a gift card from .com to .co.uk and you can't move a gift card from .de to .co.uk.
If you have a gift card on Amazon.de you'll need to spend it on Amazon.de

If you bought the gift card and you've not spend a penny of it previously then you might be able to get them to cancel it and get it refunded back to your original payment card (they don't do Paypal by the way). If however you have used any portion of the gift card previously then they won't be able to refund it at all.
