Just packing my bag for work tomorrow.

I've more chargers/converters etc in there than can be imagined.

Charger for the laptop, charger for the mobile, charger for the mobile in the car.

Converter so the laptop will work with a projector.

It's a right racket at this stage!

I got two of those portable batteries (Anker) to keep the phone, tablet, etc going during the day to cut down on the bulky chargers.

The flat plate type things? Thinking of looking into one of those too :)

My laptop also tends to get mad hot as all the fans are in the base, so I've a cool board for using it at home

Then I've the plug in for the "wireless" mouse

The bluetooth keyboard thankfully does what it says on the tin

It used to be worse before the micro-USB standardisation thing was implemented by the EU.

Doesn't work when presenting in venues with old vga tech :)

In my first job away from home all I needed was change for the phonebox. That was less than twenty years ago. How things have changed.

I had to check the date on this thread. Chargers? Laptops? Bringing?

    The Cloud.

Charger in office. Charger at home.

This week I will be in four different locations, none of which are my home or office! They will all have projectors, one will have laptops/desktops but that's it.

Sounds like your lappy has a build up of dust and dirt in the vent(s) causing it to get that hot.

Or has just plain shít ventilation design. :pac:

**** ventilation, main fan in the base, so if I'm using it sitting on the sofa it overheats.

The cool board was cheap and makes for a more comfortable experience.

My phone is the same, use it too long and it overheats.

Genuinely astonished that you have to lug a laptop around to make a presentation. And some have a projector but no hardware? I just send a list of what I want and arrive and log into a google drive account for the purpose.

I work a lot in hotels. No hardware, and sometimes an archaic system of ancient projectors and pop up screens.

In other environments I go in and it's literally a login to google, or a usb stick.

Hotels are well behind the curve however.

Yes but carrying a phone box around with you was an awful pain.

    Literally.

I think some phones that have mhl hdmi also output a vga signal so ya could look into that. The best would be the new Windows phone that has a desktop os on it.. And if it didn't have vga, a physical converter would be smaller than a laptop.

Get a laptop with both vga and hdmi out .
Many places now have free wifi .
You could get a windows 10 tablet.
    And a windows phone.
I charge my phone from a usb cable plugged into my laptop .
Theres ms word apps on android os now .
have,nt hotels always been a few years behind other places when it comes
    to technology .
At least cheap 3g data is an option now ,
    vs expensive wifi charges .

Ah remember the days when you'd only have to charge your Nokia 5110 every 5 - 6 days. Best phone ever.
