setting up in business with a woodmizer?

Well, short story long, I've been working many years, quit school early and straight into a job. Done many different types of work. Now for more'n a short time I've been on casual work from my workplace and having to rely on the casual work dole to pick up the slack, and i'm about sick of it.

Now I can get a loan for a few grand and get myself a woodmizer mill. Any of you run a business with your sawmill? Any advice /stories for me? what is the best way to charge? by board foot or by hour? How long do you think will it take for the woodmizer to pay for itself?

Was chatting to a lad that started out with one over 20 yrs ago. Hurls are the backbone of his business. Everything else seems to be tied up by big operators. You'd need to ask around locally is there a demand for one. An awful lot of timber is going for firewood. Might be different for this winter if oil stays low.

I suppose so much per cubic foot/ board foot.

If the seat's wet, sit on yer hat, a cool head is better than a wet ar5e.
