So shortly I will be outta contract and will want to buy a new android.
Currently have a HTC M7 which I like but find the wifi connection terrible and always have trouble with bluetooth.

    So what are the needs!
Gotta have a pretty decent battery life.
    FM Radio a must.
    Good/excellent wifi and bluetooth connection.
    Screen size upwards of 5inch.
Gotta be able to handle running spotify ,podcast apps etc.
Gotta be able to stand a battering.
Take it outta the box -insert sim card- go. No arsing around with rooting or whatever.
Preferably in europe but not a deal breaker.
Price point no more then 200E

Was looking at the Xiaomi Note 3 but it looks like it doesnt have FM radio.
Had a quick look at the Ulefones but a quick google/boards search doesnt rate them.
    VF Smart Ultra 6?

    TIA

    Brilliant. Thanks.
    How do you find it?

The radio works as it should. My only issue is it doesn't display the station names automatically and other information but you could probably use another app that does.

    Thanks.
I usually only use 1 or 2 stations and its usually in my pocket so info isnt a problem!
What about the phone in general?

    That's a very broad question.

Ha yeah I suppose it is!
Main points of concern is battery life, wifi range and network signal.

Strange I have a phone with a radio and the station info is visible.

I have a similar question.. Rather than open a new thread. I have a galaxy s5 and looking for a change. Budget 400 ish.

Want: sd card slot, good camera, fingerprint scanner, good battery.

    What can you guys recommend?

    Cheers

Its strange how the cheapest random Android always seems to do FM Radio way better than the flagships which often dont even bother, FM radio probably important to the Chinese though.

Battery life is hard to tell because everybody's usage is different but I rarely need to charge it and when you do charge it it charges so fast so I find myself rarely charging it too. I've no WiFi issues. I had issues with LTE but that's because 3's network hops between 3 and O2 outside the cities (you can read about the issue in the Talk to 3 forum) and when you are on the O2 network it thinks you are roaming. On 3G I had no issues.

Yeah the information is encoded in the FM radio signal but its just not displayed in the app. As I said you could probably use another app and it will come in perfectly.

Moto g 2nd gen punches far above its weight.

If you can push for the 3rd gen or moto x.

No FM radio but as a smartphone they are solid and reliable.

With some data you'd have radio from anywhere in the world?

Well I had an iPhone 4 and loved the iPhone. Was out of contract and thought long and hard about paying €55 a month to get iPhone 6. In the end I couldn't justify it. So I got a Samsung Galaxy prime core expecting that I would use it for few months until I saved enough money to buy a more expensive phone. Well I have to say I love it. It has more to it than the iPhone. More fun settings etc. I love it. I just thought before now all cheap phones are crap but I would highly recommend it. €89 on Id mobile. I think it's €120 with other networks
