Hey guys, so same old story as every other Irish person living in the middle of no where, no broadband, crap wireless, expensive satellite with 0.0001mps speeds haha..anyway I was having a look at the fibre rollout map here http://fibrerollout.ie/where-and-when/ and it looked like my area was going to get it, but then I zoomed in on the map.. this is a screenshot of my area https://goo.gl/1ZqxiB my house is circled in red and the blue lines are where the fibre to the home cables are going to run, are they actually just gonna stop it right there? there is 4 houses right where I live and quite a few further up the road, why can they not just bring it that extra 10 metres? I am just getting so fed up at this stage..also i was just wondering recently seen a sign for a company named "rural wifi" and googled them to see that they offer unlimited 3g/4g wifi for 46 a month, I'm currently on three wifi for the same price and its fast enough to get the job done the only problem for me is the 60gb usage cap :( has anyone heard anything about rural wifi, would it be worth switching over?

Others will confirm, but I believe the blue lines are "aspirational". They were put out to appear to gobble up as much of the profitable NBP areas as possible, to scare competition away from eir. There is no guarantee that anything will actually happen along those blue lines at this time.

There is a thread here about Rural-Wifi. It would seem they are using the 3 network, so the unlimited cap for the same price may suit you better.
