Hi I have a 2007 VW Golf 1.9 TDI golf! Has the standard radio that comes with them and CD player. So my problem is I want to burn CDs to play and they won't work for some reason? I got the Tesco 700mb 52x CD R and when I put them in it sounds like it is trying to read it then it comes up error and it pops out.

I then bought other CDs TDK 800mb 52x CD R and I put them in without music on and I can hear it reading it again and once again error comes up.

The strange thing is I have the exact same Tesco ones I have for 2/3 years ago and they work fine??? The only difference I notices is on the back there is different numbers?!

Any advice would be great as its driven me nuts!

How are you burning them? If they are going on as MP3 files it's unlikely they will work, the CD needs to be burned as an Audio CD and not a Data CD.

I burn them with iTunes and use the audio CD format. I tried MP3 also neither work. I also tried burning them at a slower rate and no joy!

Strange, have you tried putting the CD in to a DVD player or X box to see if they are recognised as data CD's or audio cd's? When you have them in your PC what description does it give for the CD when you look at it in My Computer?

Nope didn't try that! Put it into another car though and it worked fine! It says DVD RW Drive.

It should show as Audio CD in My Computer. Are you leaving the CD's open when burning, this sometimes causes problems?

Wrong forum. Go to computer geeks hideaway or maybe myce.com or the likes.

And one hint - try to burn them on 8x/16x/24x speed, it can help.
