If it's been used regularly for at least 10 minutes for petrol and 15 for diesel each journey none. If it's left up either get a trickle charger or disconnect it. I've a bike that doesn't get enough use and needs a lot of juice to start so I bought a solar charger and leave it connected to that all the time as I don't have easy access to electricity where it's kept.

Most of the recent batteries are maintance free and sealed units. Some of the older batteries will allow you to top up the distilled water in them, if the cells go dry the battery gets damaged over time.
