I never got a chance to read the book, so have nothing to cloud judgement of "not as good as the book".

Enjoyable film, that even the other half understood, without to much explaining. Choice words, anger, and moral issue, been the reaction afterwards.

Sure anything like that could never happen again.

I thought they oversimplified things and made each character too black and white.

Looking forward to this, just been reading the book for the second time last week.

Eisman is a pretty black/white character, so is Lippmann. Burry is probably complicated, but I'd say the film would struggle to present him as even more of a loner/weirdo than the book does.

Thought it was great, not as good as the book though - obviously...

Bale's performance as Burry is pure quality

Good movie. Thought Ryan Gosling was very good as the slick/slimey trader.
Entertaining stuff but personally didn't like the famous actor (Gomez,Robbie etc) "now for the science bit" explanations - was like a Jennifer Anniston L'oreal ad!
Well worth a watch though - not the easiest material to make an entertaining movie out of.

Don't know if you have seen "Inside Job" from 2010, a film documentary that interviews some of the big financial players of the time. Bernanke, Greenspan, and Lagarde among others play dumb to the situation.

Worth watching again, if you can find it.

Watched this at home last night, very good movie. Good depiction of the chaos that went on.

I thought Steve Carell did a great job of his part. The confusion and anger was brilliant.
