Solid fuel or Oil

Just curious - I see lots of threads here still regarding solid fuel stoves and heating.

I think solid fuel got more attractive a couple of years ago with the rapidly rising cost of home heating oil. But now that kerosene is falling in cost, I see figures quoted that suggest it could have dropped 50% over two winters, will this result in people just sticking to their oil central heating?

Empirically I noticed a certain amount of what I think was illegal timber cutting last winter and before but which has more or less stopped now. Just not worth the hassle anymore I think.

    What anyone else think?
