Where is the cheapest place to get a wired xbox controller for PC use? Anywhere better than Amazon (;24)?

Does anyone use a reliable alternative brand than Microsoft's own controller? I have a Logic3 PC controller which works for most games, but it's button configurations are bit messed up on others.

Have 2 cheap ones that I use on PC all the time . 1 was got from Argos for about €16 and the other from CEX for about €8. Brands are Afterglow and Rockcandy, but not sure which is which.

I had a cheap one from Argos, but it was a nightmare to get working with some games. Scrapped it and got the XOne pad and it was better in every way. The 360 pad is also excellent, though i doubt you'll get it cheaper then that.

I got the Afterglow from Argos, but it was a nightmare to get working properly. No matter how much I calibrated, it always drifted down (it never stayed centred).

I got an official 360 controller (also in Argos) and haven't looked back. It's perfect.

I had the GameStop branded one (was about 20 I think) and it did the job.

I got this one from CEX for €8 originallly and it developed that drift mentioned above after two weeks, sent it back and they sent me another one and have no issue with that. Seems like the cheap ones can be hit and miss.

Could it have been faulty? Did you return it for the official one?

It probably is, but even just three more of them (for local four player games) would cost about €100.

I've never seen a 3rd party console controller that lived up to the official one.
Cutting corners to save money on a controller always results in a sub par device with a shorter service life.
