    Hi all,
Have asked this is a couple of smaller threads but in the market for a new car, ideally had hoped for something like Sportage/Ix35 (or at a push Tuscon)/ Qashqai.
We'd be looking at either 1/2 years old or at a stretch the new models if we had to. Does anyone know if you would fit two high back boosters and a baby Isofix base&seat? I know there are some narrower high back boosters that are quite narrow and ok with buying new ones if I needed to.

Next step is to bring some seats to a garage but does anyone know for certain whether any of those mentioned would take that seat combination?

I don't think any of those would fit the 3 seats comfortably. Maybe at a push with some squeezing.

But when you are spending so much I'd be inclined to go with something that works better.

I would also go with a 7 seater. I got a car with 3 full seats so it fit the 3 seats but now that the oldest has started school with playdates and car pooling I sometimes end up with a child in the front and am sorry I didn't get a 7 seater.

    Hi,
My sister uses that combination of seats in a 07 Ford S-Max where they fit easily. She recently had an ix35 while the S-Max was being serviced and I think she said it was a tight squeeze. Probably best to try it at least once at garage so you can see for yourself. Sportage and ix35 are both being replaced by newer models just now so not sure how that'll impact used values or choice. €4000 scrappage on the Tuscon until Jan 31st, 0% finance on the Kia. Good luck.

Not sure on size but the new Ford Kuga has just launched at a good price.
Just saying as in same category as mentioned.

The Kuga isn't new though, it's been around for about 3 years now, they just reduced the price because it was too expensive compared to the competition.

I think most of those crossover SUV types don't have 3 individual back seats. You might have to look to the likes of the C-Max, Picasso or Scenic for 3 individual seats across the back.

if you want 3 isofix seats, id say the cheapest new is the Peugeot 3007.

Isn't the latest Kuga only just out? http://www.ford.ie/Cars/Kuga

Same model since 2013. They recently introduced a Titanium Plus model with a bit of extra kid and price reduction. Facelifted or revised Kuga is due sometime later this year but again will be primarily based on the same car on sale since 2013.

You need to avoid those suv/cuv where the middle seat belt comes from the ceiling due to the location of the 2 fixed anchor point for the belt. It will be under the child seat at the outer side so that is no good and not safe. That rules out a lot of vehicles including your list.
I found Tiguan and Kuga best for 3 seats.
But a lot depends on your seats. Jane Montecarlo high back are one of the narrowest on the market.
Generally its easier with 2 HBB and a backwards facing baby seat than with 3 HBB but you need to think of the future.
And more depends on an equal split of the 3 seats than the width of the car - some wider cars have a very narrow and almost unusable middle seat.

I had the same dilemma - 3 seats needed...booster, baby seat and normal child seat for 2 year old...Yes I wanted style ( I had to sell a 2012 A4 :-( ) as opposed to a people carrier but in the end went with an S-Max...Its not the most stylish thing on the road (and defo not cheap) but nice to drive and most importantly it is safe for the kids and has huge amount of room in the boot for buggies and the oceans of stuff you need to bring!

I drove Santa Fe's and quite a few SUV's .... Yes you would prob fit 3 seats in but very tight and uncomfortable...for both the kids and the parent trying to fasten the seat belts car seats in!..The Santa Fe was nice but very little room when 3 seats are in and quite expensive too
