Bernd Heinrich is a biologist, professor, naturalist, best selling author and runner living in the woods in Western Maine.
He has written a number of award winning books in his lifetime including 'Why We Run' (originally titled 'Racing the Antelope').
He has held and continues to hold, numerous records and 2007 was inducted into the American Ultra-Running Association's Hall of Fame.
