    Hi all,

I need to pick up some quality winter gear. Can anyone recommend some place that won't break the bank in the Limerick area?

    Thanks in advance.

I can't help you with somewhere in Limerick but why not order online? The DHB gear from Wiggle is decent quality and certainly won't break the bank. Free delivery on orders over €30 and you'll have it in a week.

Swimcyclerun do next day delivery if you get the order in early enough.

Chain reaction cycle sale is still on. I picked up Sportful Gruppetto winter bib tights, a craft long sleeve compression top and winter gloves for €160 last week. That was a sizeable reduction on the list prices. Also bought some winter socks from them today with the voucher they gave me when another item I ordered was out of stock. Good guys to deal with.

Whats the fit like on the Sportful bibs?

As you know yourself, there's no such thing as a standardised fit in cycling gear. You could be a large in one set of bibs (like my Endura FS260's) but extra large in another, like the Sportful. I got the XL in the Sportful as they're very tight fitting but they are very warm and the pad is quite thick, which is what I wanted for my long winter rides.

bought my gabba 2 castelli jacket from swimcyclerun last year. they were doing it the cheapest, which isnt too cheap, having only started cycling last november i felt having that amazing piece of kit would really help me over come my wimpishness to get out in the cold and it did. if you can at all afford it or something similar do it, you wont regret it for a second
