Bloody knuckles

    Hi Folks

Is there anyone that can offer advice on how to harden up skin on the knuckles.I have been striking(boxing and MMA) for many years now and my knuckles still get cut and bleed when I do any extended time on the heavy bag or pads.

I thought my skin would adapt and harden up but I still get cuts on them after extended periods punching.I use wraps and 8 ounce gloves and still seem to have this issue.

Not boasting but im told I an very fast and hit very hard but still ,shouldn't my skin toughen up.I work in an office environment and although my colleagues know I box and do MMA it still doesn't look great to have bloody knuckles and scabs forming regularly.

Below are pics of what my hands usually look like.

I know not to start punching walls and silly stuff like that but any tips or advice on how to avoid this?

If it was me I'd put Vaseline on them before I wrap them. But there could be someone else here with a better idea

Do you use wraps or the boxing inner glove type with shorter wraps on them for around your wrists? These fingerless gloves might give you extra protection. 8oz gloves would be very light with padding also, try 14oz boxing gloves when your on the heavy bag and giving it full power.
I know you can rub surgical spirit into your feet to harden the skin but don't know if this would work for you or is medically recommended on the hands/ knuckles.
As Rocky would say "keep punching Apollo!" :)

thanks for the replies.Yes,I use normal wraps not the fingerless gloves type.

Im thinking my wraps could well be a bit loose, will try putting them on tight and apply some vasoline on first.

    Will see how things go.
