    Hi There

we have started construction of our new home, things are moving on well but a long way off. We have started to look at bathroom/kitchens and so on to get a clear idea of what we want when we get closer to installation.

The house has underfloor heating both downstairs and upstairs, I was orginally considering tiling the whole place but felt while it may feel warm to touch it may appear cold & clinical. we were considering technical wood flooring in some rooms

perhaps tile the lower & upper level hallways, kithchen/dinner, sun room and utility with one form of tile and technical wood flooring for the sitting room & bedrooms, bathroms will be tiled but unlikey with same tile.

id be happy tiling every room using softer finishes in bedrooms.

I was wondering how others with similar construction completed floors and possibly post a few pics, we considered polished concrete floors but have moved away from it.

    thanks
    col

Just an FYI, you can get tiles that look like wood floors, if the cold appearance was your only hesitation .... I'm not a huge fan of tiles myself, planning an engineered wood throughout the ground floor, and only tiling bathrooms and utility. I think they are very hard underfoot and couldn't imagine walking on tiles for the whole day, my poor joints!

Personally I think tiles in the upstairs hallway would look odd.
