Change of Address on Expired Licence

Hi, I've got a bit of a dilemma.

My learner permit will have expired 5 years ago in March and I want to renew it before then. However, since it would be my 3rd permit and I've never taken the driving test, I need to make an appointment with the RSA for the test to get the permit renewed. But my address has also changed.

So, if I make an appointment with my current (expired) learner permit, it will be with an address that is out of date. I can then apply to the NDLS to have it renewed, but I am wondering if the difference in addresses will cause a problem? As in, the RSA will have one address, and the NDLS would have another. The address is my mothers house, so It's not a problem to get anything that is posted there.

Or, would it be better if I just get the renewed licence on the old address temporarily, and then change it at a later point?

I could also change the address on my current licence, but I'm not sure if you can change address on an expired licence.

    Any advice would be appreciated.

No issue there, you only need your driver number from the license to book your test. The address on your permit has no bearing on anything with regards the driving test.

No need to go and renew the license with the same address if it has changed as it is only going to cause you to go to the NDLS center twice. Go for the renewal with proof of the new address and be done with it there and then.
