Central Heating

    Hi All........another central heating question!

So, here is the issue. Radiators on the ground floor are heating up but upstairs they are only heating up by a fraction at the top.

I had an issue with the pump which I fixed by replacing.
I've bled all radiators and still the same issue.

I took one of the radiators off and cleaned out, only had a small amount of sludge (like very small) put it back on and still the same!

    I've replaced the thermostat.

Hot water is passing the automatic valve but just doesn't seem to be reaching the radiators. (The water is very hot)

The system is at 2.5bar so pressure doesn't seem to be an issue.

Boiler and pump seems to be turning off once the water reaches the set temperature.

Any ideas what it could be?

Close the balance valve on your hot water cylinder and then open 1 and 1/4 of a turn. The system pressure is too high,it should be 1 bar to 1 1/4 bar when system is cold

Not familiar with sealed systems but would imagine there is an automatic air vent somewhere? maybe on cylinder coil top, if so, most of these have a little screw-on sealing cap on the air vent, did you remove that when filling the system? and did you ensure that the upstairs zone valve and hot water cylinder motorised valve were open. When you are venting the upstairs rads there should be a good strong jet of water coming out because if you have 2.5 bar downstairs then you should have 2.0 bar upstairs. Is there water circulating through the cylinder coil?.
It may be just the way you posted it but the circ pump runs independently of the burner, the burner just cuts in/out on the boiler thermostat but the circ pump runs continuously unless interrupted by CH main switch or time clock or room thermostat etc.

If the system is in fact zoned, you could also try just opening the upstairs zone valve, if still no flow after bleeding rads then ensure that pressure gauge is reading reasonably correctly and isnt just stuck at 2.5 Bar.
