Nice car. Looks to be an Irish car with decent mileage so looks to me to be priced fairly right.

Ah here hardly dreamer of the year territory!

You've linked 2 cars that look imports to me and a BROWN one with no tints, standard wheels and more miles.

They're asking good money for a desirable car, 28k would probably buy it.

I listed similar cars within the price range to what the OP is looking at.

They are dealer cars that come with decent warranties and what has being an import got to do with anything? Do you think imported A6 command less money than Irish models. UK spec A6 S Lines of that vintage are better equipped than similar Irish models. Silly big replica rims and tinted windows don't add value to the car. The car would want to be a lot cheaper than a dealer's price to take a punt on having no comeback from a private sale. Asking 30k for a 4 year A6 when you can buy a similar car from a dealer with a decent warranty for less is just daft and gives me the impression the seller hasn't done any research on what that model sells for.

I would not pay the same price for an imported car and unless the dealer was a VAG dealer I would not put much value on the warranty.

How do you know the rims are replica?

In any case I'm pretty sure the car would sell for less than asking.

This isn't the 1990s. There is very little difference in prices between Irish cars and UK imports these days unless your looking at ones with hidden histories being sold by supermarket carpark chancers. UK cars have traceable service histories, traceable mileage verification when they do the MOT, traceable insurance claim histories. Try finding similar information on an Irish car and chances are you will get patchy information at best or non at all. They also generally tend to be higher spec and in better condition. I've owned a few UK imports including my current car and never got less money for them when selling them because they were imported.

Also you don't have to buy a UK car from a main dealer to get a decent warranty. Plenty of good indy dealers out there who offer decent after sales.

Rims look like replicas to me as OEM 20" rotor rims were massive money from Audi.

I was going to address all your points but your comment about the rims is just dumb so it's pointless.

Warranties these days from so-called dealers are next to worthless. They will always extract their value from you wherever possible.

When considering used vehicles i always also look at what UK options are available. Have not gone wrong in the past. Usually better spec, lower mileage and/or fewer owners.

Have not gone wrong in the past.

Consider this, what happens when you get a 3 or 6 month warranty from an irish dealer that covers the engine and transmission and then 2months later the ABS module fails or the DPF or....?
You still have a 2K bill on your hands. End result: dealer warranty is of no use to you and they will be quick enough to forget about you.

In fact, one could take out separate cover for about €500 per year. Which would be cheaper.

It's not an Irish car. The speedo is in miles and it's flagged as a UK import on motorcheck.ie https://www.motorcheck.ie/free-car-check/12mo2139/

Imports are worth less as clock in km's and also its that little bit harder to check the warranty- if you buy a 3 or 4 year old A6 from a dealer here, the chances are they supplied the car new and can tell you about the original owner, what they bought etc. I find that to be very re-assuring, more so than relying on an online tool that may or may not have all relevant data listed

If the op wants to save money might be worth buying a UK car in the UK from a dealer with the Audi warranty that will be valid here too. I dont know the prices but sterling isn't as terrible as it was so it might make sense

The Rotors are mad money but are more likely to be genuine on a high spec car like that - the main issue with them will be buying tyres

Its a couple of grand too expensive though and remember main dealers will bargain asking prices too

Theres just no way I would be leaving that amount of cash with a private seller.

if that was being sold thro a dealer with warranty its not far off the money

its a UK import but that wouldn't bother me
I was looking for an A6 recently and the majority of them are UK imports, although I wanted an Avant which there are not as many of them here

You can change the display to read km and also the sat nav if fitted to km and everything on the trip computer to metric aswell

I was looking at autos but settled for the manual in the end. not because of reliability but from reviews that the auto in the Audis is not as good as the BMW/MERC one. Its also a CVT gearbox.

Not sure about Irish spec S Lines if they have the sat nav, but its a decent system so orth getting on the car. Lots of saloon options out there. The Daytona grey is a beautiful paint colour so that's what I would be getting
