I heard from a friend that you're only allowed to do 4 level 1 electives over the course of your degree? Does anyone have any info on this or know if this is true?

You cannot have any more than 80 level 1 credits in your degree overall. How many you've left depends on how many level 1 credits you did in first year and how many level 1 electives you've taken overall. Quickest way to check is the credit requirement column on the right hand side of the module registration page on SISweb.

I think science degrees have different rules so it does depend on what you're doing. IIRC, 4th year science degrees do not always have electives and all modules must be within the school of science (eg. Pharmacology)
