Tyres Bent/Deformed?

Well lads; just back from NCT and she failed on the two back tyres being "deformed/bent" -> not too sure what he meant by this and he struggled to explain it fully himself. It's just a visual recheck so shouldn't be major I'm thinking.

Question as to (a) whether anyone has had something similar and (b) I'm thinking get wheels aligned and swap the front with the back and I should be golden?

Not sure how you are arriving at this conclusion tbh. Surely if a tyre is deformed then sticking it on the front instead of the rear isn't going to achieve much?

The most common reason for a tyre to become deformed is when the reinforcing cords inside the tyre fail. It is pretty dangerous and the only solution is to replace the tyre.

    Example picture from google:

Tester told you your tyres are faulty. Your tyres provide the few square inches of grip that stop the ton+ of metal you're sitting in from sliding off the road. Possible into me or somebody else.

    Get new tyres. decent ones.

Yeah I've had a good google of it there - the tester just really didn't get across the seriousness of it to me. He kind of made it seem like a slight wear issue if anything hence my asking (and my own solution to it) there.

I'll pop down and have both replaced, no point taking a chance.

For a visual recheck once I get the work done all I have to do is show up to the centre at any time/day that they are open and someone will come out to have a look and we're done?

Do you want to buy online or in a shop?
You can buy good tyres in that price range, Goodyear, Pirelli etc online. Oponeo Camskill or Eiretyres are all good online shops.
In a bricks and mortar shop you should still be able to get a decent tyre for that price.
Have a look at Tyreviews website and it should give you some pointers as to what you should be looking for at that price.
I would say buy on performance not price good tyres need not be expensive compared to poor performing tyres.
