minimum rssi required for hkc gsm sc

Hi all anybody know what the signal requirements are for the sc to operate reliably swapping out a dtv and was wondering witch communicator to go with been told the q will work with 2g but the sc needs 3g don't fancy loosing more money with the wrong choice only had the dtv in few months and eircom withdrew the SMS service…
