Parish Confusion

    I've been asked to fill in 'Parish (if Roman Catholic):' on a form. I always took Parish to mean what area you live in but this stipulates 'If Catholic' so I'm guessing that means what Church do you attend.
    To clarify, I don't attend the Church closest to me. So do I put the Parish I live in or the one I am religiously a part of?

    depends what the form is for, I'd put the parish you live in

    Depends what it's for. If for religious purposes, I'd put the one you attend.

    That's a bit discriminatory - Anglicans also talk in terms of Parish. Methodists and Presbyterians do not.

    If you don't go to Church, then don't fill in the Parish. If you are not a member of a Church then say so.

    In such a form it will mean what Parish you are resident in. Like you my Mass attendance and my geographical Parish differ but always I will use the name of the Parish I reside in. Just is official stuff!
