    Hello all,

Question is this, what is the usual way to plaster up a window externally against the reveal,do window installers usually use stuff from a bucket or tub premixed or would the professional thing to do is mix cement, must it be a waterproof based cement or special type of cement even?

i recently got new windows fitted by a seemingly reputable window company and looking at the job afterwards i noticed behind the mastic or silicone is a white chalkey type stuff they used in all the windows,is this normal, surely this stuff would take water like a sponge,

they didnt even have a mixer on site

    any advice appreciated cheers
