Returning item to Amazon UK via ParcelMotel

OK, so I ordered something from Amazon UK, delivered through Parcel Motel and want to return it. The only option Amazon's website gives me is to return it to a Collect+ point, and proceeds to list a bunch of them in and around Newtownabbey, which is where Parcel Motel's depot is, including one at Parcel Motel itself. So, do I choose that one, send it there via Parcel Motel and it gets automatically returned to Amazon from there or what's the story? The Parcel Motel website FAQ's on Amazon returns are all over the place, and I can't make head or tail of them.

If you purchase directly from Amazon if you contact them on chat or email they should be able to re-issue return labels for Ireland to use with Anpost.

If you have prepaid labels for Collect+ you can go to Parcel Motel, select the "Return To a Retailer or use a prepaid label" select Collect+ and follow the steps.

Yes, it was direct from Amazon. So do I need to go through the return process first specifying Collect+, and then contact them after that, or just contact them directly and say I want to return an item?

.. and choose the ParcelMotel Collect+ point on Amazon then?

Sorry for all the questions, this is the first time I've ever returned anything to Amazon, via ParcelMotel or otherwise, so it's new territory for me.

I've to do the exact same thing and found this if it helps (pretty much what other posters said to do!).

    http://www.parcelmotel.com/return/collectplus/

Yes, I saw that, but I'm unsure as to what Collect+ return centre to choose in the Amazon returns centre .. I assume it's the ParcelMotel one.

No you just go straight to chat on their website, it should bring you to the correct place by clicking here

    .

If for what ever reason they do not give you Irish return labels and you need to use Collect+, follow the steps on the link given by me_irl choose ParcelMotel point.

    Oh, apologies!

You should have the return label already in your amazon account. (In your account, your orders). The "Track Item", orange button will change to View Return Label & Instructions.

    Print that.

Then when signed in to Parcel Motel, there's a drop down about half way down the page. Choose Collect+ with that.

Have both labels on the package you want to return.

OK, did it via ParcelMotel as that's more convenient for me, even if I do have to pay. Bar code didn't scan though, so had to enter the number instead but it seems to have worked.

Hi, sorry for asking on an old thread

but did you have any problems sending your order back. I have to return something myself also got a collect+ label. As amazon would not issue An Post label.

I asked in the big thread at top of forum but when I contacted Amazon they told me to ship to a specific address in Dunfermline and send them a picture of my shipping costs which they would then reimburse me along with reimbursment for items I am returning. Payment on receipt of items in amazon.

Asking above if PM can be used for this process as it is handier for me than post office.

There was a previous poster (Yggar of Asgard Perhaps??) who use their returns service. The problem is they dont sign it over to the next leg so its not registered and not insured. If its worth more than a few bob avoid avoid avoid.

Thanks to everyone who contributed helpful information to this thread.

I had been putting an Amazon return on the long finger as I couldn't make any sense of the Parcel Motel Collect+ instructions. You guys made the process very simple :).

Just been on CHAT with Amazon. I got issued with an international Customer return docket stick it on my parcel and walk into a postoffice tomorrow. I will have to pay upfront for postage but with the receipt the money will be reimbursed to my card....

Sorry to bump this thread so I have to return an item. I have the main postage return item printed out and there's 2 copies of the International Customer Return, do I stick 1 on the box also and keep a record of the second or what happens? The item is a pretty big box so I want to ensure it's done properly

Edit: It was delivered by Amazon to Ireland and not via ParcelMotel

Amazon give you that even though its not required within the EU. Just ignore it.

Sent it back with no hassle. Bloody expensive to send it but Amazon were kind enough to refund me the cost in GBP instead of euro so I'm not complaining :D
