    Hi,

    I never signed-up or registered, yet you have all my details and phone number etc. How is this possible?

    Is it common for the landlord to sign up his tenants or do you pay the PRTB for their data?

    Is it in your lease?

    Not sure. In the 2nd year of the lease at the moment.

    Where can i get a copy of the lease? The landlord uses a property management company.

    Hi jme2010,

    Thanks for contacting our page.

    Landlords can contact Irish Water and provide the name of their tenant(s), ensuring that they are no longer liable for water services charges whilst their tenant continues to be the occupant of the property. Irish Water will then write to the tenant to invite them to register their details, which also ensures accurate billing.

    The personal data to be provided by landlords or their authorised agents is limited to the tenants' names only and is to be used solely by Irish Water in the performance of its statutory functions under the Water Services Acts 2013. The provision of such names is necessary both for Irish Water to perform its statutory functions, and for Irish Water and the landlords' legitimate interests in ensuring the correct customer is identified. This processing is in accordance with the Data Protection Acts.

    If there is anything in relation to the above that you would like us to investigate, please send us a PM with the following details:

    Your name;
    Address and;
    Contact number.

    Thanks in advance,
    Amy
