Where to buy materials - various jobs

I need some parts/materials for jobs around the house but don't know what supplier would be best able to provide so will be grateful for pointers:

I'm based in Sth Dublin/Nth Wicklow

    1) I need to replace the covering on some units in the kitchen. I understand you can get replacement covers for MDF door panels - is that right, and where could I get them?

    2) I need replacement inserts for radiator covers. I've seen them in Woodies but at about €40 each (I need 2 for a large unit) It seems very expensive - would they be available anywhere else cheaper?

    3) Window fitting to prevent it being fully opened - ie childproofed

    Thanks

    1) For the kitchen doors, try Gregg Smith in Roundwood. Diykitchenshop.ie

    2) maybe try woodworkers in Terenure.

    3) if they're regular pvc Windows, the neatest solution might be to just get handles with locks?

Don't fit locking window handles to bedroom windows as they could prevent escape in the event of fire. You can get restrictors which restrict opening in normal use but allow full opening without tools or keys etc (they are in effect child-proof) so are safe for use in a fire escape scenario. I got restrictors for Munster Joinery windows as an after-market addition direct from the factory, they are a straightforward DIY fitment, probably cost €5 per window.
