Two learner drivers, one car, insurance question?

Myself and my other half both got our learner permits 6 months ago and are now planning to get a car (just the one), my question is about the insurance.

Can two learners be put on the same insurance for one car?

If I get insurance for say, €4000, would he then be another €4000 on top of that for the one car? Or would it be a situation where my insurance is €4000 and to add him it'll be another €1000, these are totally random figures but I'm hoping my question makes sense?

Not sure if this is the right forum for this question, if not mods please move it, thanks! :o

Try getting a online quote. The person the car is registered to will be the main driver and the other a named driver.

One will pay more than the other depending on age etc..

Remember you need to have a full licence holder with you or you will be saying bye bye to your car if the Gardai stop you..

we had 2 learners on the one car for a while. the premium didn't go up much at all - based on the fact that only one learner can be driving at any one time. this was a parent's car with 2 learner children.
