Really i see it as a very dangerous issue,
Recently i have seen videos/images that are anti Islamic / Anti african and normally display someone being beaten by supposedly muslim's/immigrants.

Many of these videos have incorrect titles and information yet many assume if it is posted on facebook it is fact.

There is enough hatred and problems in the world without fueling the fire so to speak.
Just for the record these videos/images are disgusting and i do not seek them out but they appear on my timeline by friends who have commented on the videos.

It's a symptom, and a rather inevitable one.

I consider myself centre-left, but the left wing media has completely and totally f*cked up with regard to Isis and migrants. There is now rather unquestionable evidence that the media is not reporting on certain issues in order to maintain a particular narrative - social media has allowed that narrative to be smashed, and as a result all hell has broken loose. To put this another way, nobody would actually believe the hoaxes you refer to, if there weren't demonstrable and real instances of the media covering things up. That whole NYE incident in Germany being a glaring example.

In other words, the media are inadvertently fuelling the type of rabid, Trump-esque right wing extremism they are seeking to silence, by being so blatantly biased in their reporting that most people are seeing through it and getting fairly pissed off about being lied to.
