My training contract (ACA) is up in a few months time and I am hoping to change job ASAP. Can you give your notice while still on your training contract? I.e. if I had two weeks of my contract left, could I give a months notice so that I would finish up two weeks-ish after my contract ends?

Realistically, you could just finish up the date your contract finishes as that was agreed long before any notice period.

However, it would be expected to give notice (maybe a month) out of courtesy.

I would also expect your current employers to approach you before your last month of contract starts to discuss your plans though, so they wont be surprised that you don't stay on after contract.

    Thanks for the reply :)

My current employer will definitely expect at least a month's notice. I doubt they'll ask me beforehand if I'm leaving. They prefer the head-in-the-sand approach to personnel management.
