Just as a matter of interest is there anyone here over 40 that would still regularly play the playstation .....or is that deemed too old for gaming

I'm in my late forties - never too old to game.

They will have to take my controller from my cold dead hands.

Don't think there is such a thing anymore as too old. They'll have to pry a controller from my hands

I'm 44 and still play regularly, no one will tell me I am too old. I enjoy it as much as I ever did.

Am 40, play most days. The problem I have is having four young kids wandering around so I have to be careful of the games I play in front of them!

You're never too old to do something you enjoy. I'm 44 and regularly play online and and local co-op games with two mates, also in their forties.

people our age were the first ones to have gaming readily available to us from a young age so it is going to stay with us whereas the baby boomers consider it a childish activity and I'm sure their parents looked down on them listening to rock music.

We had the early consoles and arcades and then later home computers and later on consoles that were on a par with arcade graphics so we grew up with these things so there is no need for us to consider being too old for it as it has progressed along side us

It's a form of entertainment. It's not much different to saying you're too old to watch movies.

My Dad is still playing at 55 :D Recently tore up the streets in Burnout Paradise :D Think he's on to Assassin's Creed now. It's a lifelong love for me, building up a backlog now for when I retire :D

You're never too old for gaming. Just too old for certain games, maybe.

What games would you consider yourself too old for as a matter of interest?

Sometimes it is hard to appreciate how far gaming has come, from 10p arcade games and Centipede on the Commodore 64 (or the original Pong!) to playing Call of Duty III on a 150" projector!

There was a tv show on Ch4 over Christmas with celebrities and their kids playing with toys the celebrities played with as kids. I was showing my kids and they couldnt believe it, I think they felt sorry for me at the end of it!

I'm talking about games that are designed for kids. Not really old classics.

I'm 44 with a massive collection of consoles, both from 2014 and stuff from the 70's and everything inbetween.
There are those who have grown up with videogames as part of mainstream, since the mid 90's, so those boys and girls are all in their 30's now, and then there's the older generation who were into videogames back when it was still a niche area, and a past time that carried with it no end of derision from people who just didn't "get" it.

So, to answer your question, nothing wrong with people over 40 playing video games!

    Like what games?

Don't tell me you think Mario games are for kids, because that's a mistake right there.
Too many people miss out on classics like Mario Galaxy thinking it's a kids game, how wrong they are.

I love Mario games. Bit of a rant over nothing there....
