Just wondering what the opinion is on these hurleys?

They have a very professional website and I was thinking about getting a couple to try out.

Maybe a couple of euro more than other manufacturers but wouldn't mind that if the quality is good

Quite a few inter county lads seem to be using them so they must be goid enough

Sports shop hurleys. break on impact.

Well I'd imagine the ones in the sports shop are very different to the ones you'd get direct from them

I can agree with what was said about them breaking. I liked the touch off them and found the striking okay but broke quite a few.

I am using Bourke now with a band and pleased thus far.

Yeah I saw those Bourke ones online as well and they looked quite ok

I find them too heavy by far, but lads seen to like the big strike you get from them. But yeah they're made of biscuits.

I've used the big bás ones for a few years, haven't broken one. Broken plenty of other lads hurleys though. They are heavy, yeah, and I do find myself swapping to Cannings at times.

broke one of their "sports shop" ones from just pucking around, split down the grain. absolute ****e

I find Torpey and Canning to be very poor quality. Lads in our club use prob. 10 different makers and these 2 always seem to put up no battle comaperd to other makes. Maybe they are just producing too many and quality doesn't matter.

The Big Bás ones are hand made from what I remember while the sports shop ones are done on a cnc.

I've broken a few Cannings to be fair.

But there's plenty of inter-county lads using both, so they're not that bad.

From the makes used by lads in your club which do you find most reliable?

I see Declan Hannon is now employed as a rep with Bourke hurleys covering the counties of Munster outside of Tipp

I don't think employed would be the word, he is probably an agent for them. Handy for hurley makers to off load the rubbish.
The best hurleys are still got by going urself to hurley makers workshop. our lads seem to use mainly Shanahan, Bulfin, Fitzgerald. lads now seem to change e=makers on a regular basis. At the end of the day its down to the hurler instead of the hurley. A bad work man.........
